TELEMETRIX 500 HIGH-RATE IRIG CHAPTER 10 RECORDER (T500RX-CH10)
|
OVERVIEW
|
The RT Logic Telemetrix® 500 High-Rate IRIG Chapter 10 Recorder System (T500RX-CH10) accurately
digitizes and stores multiple Chapter 10 specified signals and associated time, while maintaining Time-Data Correlation (TDC) for simultaneous or post-processing replay.
The T500RX-CH10 supports aggregate recording and playback rates up to 1.6 Gbps, internal/external Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID)-based storage systems and/or
tape backup systems. Leveraging RT Logic’s experience in end-to-end systems design, the T500RX-CH10 offers a high density recording solution in a network-centric, open
architecture platform that conforms to the latest interoperability standards.

APPLICATION
|
Data recording is an ever-present requirement in defense and aerospace applications. Whether at the factory, test range, launch pad, or at
deployed sites such as control centers and remote ground stations, there is always a need for reliable recording at increased data rates. The interoperable, standards-based
T500RX-CH10 recorder scales in channel configurations, storage capacity, and capability to meet growing user requirements, and is compliant with the IRIG 106 Chapter 10 Digital
Recording Standard.
|
ARCHITECTURE
|
The T500RX-CH10 synchronizes the input data streams with a digitized IRIG signal to provide precise correlation between the channels. The T500RX-CH10
auto-detects input data rates for digital channels and automatically factors out input data rate jitter. During playback, the T500RX-CH10 reproduces the recorded channels and IRIG
signal at exactly the recorded rate. An integrated BERT capability enables efficient system integration, test, and checkout.
The heart of the system is RT Logic’s firmware-based Digital Front-End Processor (DFP) technology. Digital signals, typically clock and data pairs, are input directly to the DFP’s
flexible I/O subsystem. Analog signals of all types are digitized and the resulting clock and data pair are then input to the DFP’s I/O subsystem. The result is an elegant solution
where all signal types are recorded and replayed by the T500RX-CH10 using the same signal processing algorithms.

THE T500RX-CH10 DIFFERENCE
|
|
MODULAR CUSTOMIZABLE DESIGN
|
The T500RX-CH10 base system is a server-class PC running an Enterpriseclass Linux OS with hot-swappable disk drives, dual hot-swappable power
supplies, Intel Quad-Core CPU, four Gb Ethernet ports, and RT Logic digital and analog DFP signal processing cards. It is available in 2U or 5U configurations, and mounts in a standard
19-inch rack. Multiple I/O options are available including Analog, TTL, RS-422, ECL, LVPECL, and LVDS. Based on a nonproprietary, server-class PC architecture, customers benefit from
the T500RXCH10’s inherent ability to track industry trends toward higher density storage and faster processing speed.

RELATED T500 PRODUCT FAMILY STANDARD CONFIGURATIONS
|
The T500RX-CH10 is a recording system with dynamically reconfigurable algorithms. A wide range of firmware and software personality options are
already developed and RT Logic is happy to discuss new personalities to meet new customer-specific requirements.
The T500RX-CH10 is just one member of the RT Logic T500 product family. All share the same COTS server-class base architecture and high-performance firmware-based DFP signal processing
engine. Many of the features and capabilities of the different T500 system products can be combined to solve multiple requirements. For example:
- T500RX-CH10 and T500MX: Data recording with simultaneous data transport across IP-based networks and time-data correlated reproduction at the remote site.
- T500GT and T500RX-CH10: CCSDS SLE capabilities with real-time recording.
- T500RX-CH10 and T500HR: High-rate mission data recording with simultaneous distribution of that data to multiple networked consumer sites utilizing bandwidth-efficient standard protocols such as PGM or UDP/IP.
- And many more applications.
