OVERVIEW
The RT Logic Telemetrix® 500 High-Rate Digital/ Analog Recorder System (T500RX) accurately digitizes and stores digital or analog signals, and associated time, while maintaining Time-Data Correlation (TDC) for simultaneous or postprocessing replay. The T500RX supports aggregate recording and playback rates up to 1.6 Gbps, internal/external RAID-based disk storage systems, and/or tape backup systems. Leveraging RT Logic’s experience in end-to-end systems design, the T500RX offers a high density recording solution in a network-centric, open architecture platform.



APPLICATION
Data recording is a ubiquitous requirement in defense and aerospace applications. Whether at the factory, test range, launch pad, or at deployed sites such as control centers and remote ground stations, the need for reliable recording at ever-increasing data rates is an established trend. The interoperable, standards-based T500RX recorder scales in channel configurations, storage capacity and capability to meet those growing user requirements.

ARCHITECTURE
The T500RX synchronizes the input data streams with a digitized IRIG signal to provide precise correlation between the data streams and the digitized IRIG signal. Auto-detect of the input data rate and the automatic factoring out of input data rate jitter are major benefits of the T500RX. During playback, the T500RX faithfully reproduces the data and the regenerated IRIG signal at a data rate specified by the operator. An optional integrated BERT capability enables efficient system integration, test, and checkout.

The heart of the system is RT Logic’s firmware-based Digital Front-End Processor (DFP) technology. Digital signals – typically clock and data pairs - are directly input to the DFP’s flexible I/O subsystem. Analog signals of all types are digitized and the resulting clock and data pair are then input to the DFP’s I/O subsystem. The result is an elegant solution where all signal types are recorded and replayed by the T500RX using the same signal processing algorithms.

Aggregate recording rates of 1.6 Gbps and individual digital channel rates of 480 Mbps are supported. Flexible analog input options enable recording of baseband and IF bandwidths up to 10MHz and 20MHz (respectively).

The T500RX base system is a server-class PC running an Enterprise-class Linux OS with hot-swappable disk drives, dual hot-swappable power supplies, Intel Dual-Core CPU, dual Gb Ethernet ports, and RT Logic digital and analog DFP signal processing cards. It is available in 2U or 5U configurations, and mounts in a standard 19-inch rack.

Multiple I/O options are available including Analog, TTL, RS-422, ECL, LVPECL, and LVDS signal lines to support a wide variety of signal interfaces and data rates. Based on a non-proprietary, server-class PC architecture, customers benefit from the T500RX’s inherentability to track industry trends toward higher density storage and faster processing speed.

The T500RX is a high-performance, real-time, high-rate digital and analog recording system with dynamically reconfigurable algorithms. A wide range of firmware and software personality options are already developed and RT Logic is happy to discuss new personalities to meet new customer-specific requirements.
