TELEMETRIX 400 RANGE TEST SYSTEM (T400RTS)

OVERVIEW
The RT Logic Telemetrix® product line includes a scalable telemetry test system for full-loop range testing at RF, without actual flying targets, launch vehicles, or weapons under test. The system generates signals at IF (70 MHz) from previously recorded telemetry files, simulated telemetry files, or pseudo-random number (PRN) sequences. It then applies Doppler shift, delay, fading, and noise based on flight paths, terrain, and telemetry tracking station location(s). After RF upconversion, amplification, and transmission, RF signals received at the tracking station(s) are identical to those that would have been received had an actual mission been in progress. This allows complete range telemetry hardware, software, processing, and communications link verification.

APPLICATION
The T400RTS ensures operational readiness before incurring the expense and hazard of actual flights. It verifies that all RF systems, data processing, communications links and range safety systems are fully functional against a mission’s nominal and worst-case profiles. Complete mission planning and visualization is provided by RT Logic software operating in conjunction with Analytical Graphics, Inc.’s STK software. The T400RTS’s TCP/IP command capability allows simple connection into existing user systems. The T400RTS is also ideal for range operations training, since it requires no actual flights for full range system operation.

OPERATIONAL EXAMPLE
In this example, as a missile, weapon, target, or UAV flies (blue ground track), tracking stations TS2 and TS5 receive telemetry perturbed by Doppler, delay, attenuation, and noise, etc., as indicated by yellow traces. (TS1, TS3, and TS4 are not receiving telemetry due to terrain obscuration.)

With the T400RTS, telemetry is received from a central location (the range control center in this case) instead of from an in-flight object, as indicated by the green traces. This telemetry is perturbed by the T400RTS to precisely match what would have been received from an object flying the indicated path. The T400RTS can also be installed in fixed or mobile telemetry tracking stations, then synchronized with other T400RTS units on the range.

FEATURES
The T400RTS is an open and highly modular system, integrating easily and economically with a wide variety of RT Logic and non-RT Logic components.
